● Client Success Story

From Discount-Dependent to Data-Driven

Director of Marketing, DTC Wellness Brand

I inherited a business running on markdowns. Every promotion worked, which was exactly the problem, it meant nothing else did. There was no real acquisition engine, no loyalty infrastructure worth the name, and a customer base skewed almost entirely toward people who'd already bought once, with nothing consistently bringing new people in behind them. Growth, such as it was, depended on how deep the next discount went.

● Where It Started

The Challenge

Retention as Infrastructure

With a disproportionate share of repeat customers and no quantifiable new growth, this business relied on heavy, consistent discounting to generate revenue.

Acquisition Reliant on Discounting

Nearly no acquisition funnel. All paid ads were set to retarget; fewer than a 4th of customers each month were new.

Small-Team, Big Dreams

Marketing team: myself, an influencer coordinator, and a social media coordinator. Leaving me the sole operator of an 8-figure DTC channel.

Lost Identity, Mixed-Messaging

Because this brand spanned across a variety of wellness-focused product verticals and consisted of over 1,000 skus, their messaging was divided and inconsistent.

● How It Went

This brand had the basics in place. Paid was running, email was sending, the homepage was live. The problem was that nothing actually worked together.

The brand was busy but not strategic, and their audience felt the difference.

I didn't start by fixing channels. I started by asking what a customer needed to feel before they'd trust this brand with their wallet.

Inboxes are crowded, but that doesn't mean you can't use your story to stand out.
